Loreto Hockey Club
Loreto Hockey Club was founded in 1926 and is affiliated to the Leinster Branch of the Irish Hockey Association. It is one of the largest and most successful ladies’ clubs in Ireland with six league teams. Loreto also has a thriving junior section which caters for over 120 schoolgirls from the age of nine to eighteen.
Loreto won the inaugural Irish Hockey League last season and has had a number of other notable successes in recent seasons. The club won the Irish Senior cup in 2002 and 2003. As holders of the Irish Senior Cup, we ventured to Europe to Vienna in 2003 to compete in the European Cup Winner’s Cup B Division, where we came away as winners thus taking Ireland, again represented by Loreto to the A Division in 2004.
We are located at Loreto High School, Beaufort in Rathfarnham, Dublin, Ireland. We have a sand dressed astro pitch and clubhouse facility which was completed in 1997. During the summer of 2006 the pitch was updated with the latest Astroturf surface. The lighting on the pitch was also replaced in 2006.
