Umpiring

coachingIt is easy to sometimes forget that an umpire is as essential to hockey as having a goalkeeper or players. Check the rule book, without umpires, a match can't go ahead! Umpiring is so much more than having a good knowledge of the rules (although that definitely helps) and there are lots of other aspects to take on board when umpiring such as good communication, fitness and stong leadership. This section of the website is here to help you develop some of those very areas! If you have any experiences or top tips that you would like to share, please send them on in to info@hockey.ie
